Thursday, August 27th at 5:00 PM 45 Minute Closure of Harbor Entrance (vessel outer breakwater entrance) 

We’re providing notice of upcoming construction activities that may cause public interference:

 Pipeline launch – We will be transporting the second dredge pipeline segments down the slope from the assembly location and placing them in the water.  Pipe sections will cross the pedestrian path at that location during brief intervals. We estimate approximately 1 hour to move and launch each section. We expect to move five sections in total at this time.

Pipeline sections will then be transported up the beach along the harbor breakwater and assembled into position at the north corner of Surfers Beach. This operation is now scheduled to begin on 8/26 and complete by 8/30. Our crews will work with pedestrians and cyclists to allow limited passage during operations as it is safe to do so. 

Secondary Pipeline Re-route – The existing pipeline will also be re-routed upon acceptance of the disposal of dredge material at the eelgrass placement area. This will entail retracting the pipeline from across the harbor and installing it up along the breakwater. From there it will continue along the pedestrian path along the beach to the access ramp, where it will descend to the beach. Significantly, this operation will entail re-floating of the submerged pipeline at the harbor entrance. This work is expected to occur between 8/27 and 9/2.

Establishment of Land Equipment Laydown Area for Beach Placement - Upon agreement with San Mateo County regarding the Equipment Lay-down Area, heavy equipment will he positioned at the southern end of Surfers Beach, adjacent to Highway 1 and the pedestrian walking path. This work is expected to occur between 9/1 and 9/15.
