Surfers Beach Pilot Restoration Project

Since the staging area permit with San Mateo County has been procured, we update the following:
Pipeline re-route – We will be installing the larger pipeline to the access ramp site on Surfers Beach in order to discharge at the southern end of the beach from Dredge 2. Pipe sections will be moved along the pedestrian path between the northern corner of the beach and the new access ramp. We estimate approximately 8 hours to move and launch the required pipeline sections and may have to divide the work between several shifts due to pedestrian traffic. This operation is scheduled to begin on 9/3 and complete by 9/6. Our crews will work with pedestrians and cyclists to allow limited passage during operations as it is safe to do so.
Establishment of Land Equipment Laydown Area for Beach Placement – Having reached agreement with San Mateo County regarding the Equipment Lay-down Area, heavy equipment will he positioned at the southern end of Surfers Beach, adjacent to Highway 1 and the pedestrian walking path. Vortex placed the required warning signage on 9/2 at two locations at opposite ends of the staging area. This work is expected to occur between 9/3 and 9/9.
Again, due to ongoing operations, this schedule is subject to change on a day-by-day basis
